Finical Information

Does your office participate with my insurance?

Yes, we participate with all insurances but are considered under insurances as “out of network”. What that means is that with your insurance contract with your carrier we are considered the “out of network” percentage/fee agreement that you have with your insurance company. Usually, “out of network” coverage does not cover as much as seeking care with “in network” but usually not a huge difference. However, if your insurance company specifically states you must seek care with an “in network” dentist then to be able to use your benefits you must seek care with an “in network” dentist. To find out if you must seek care with an “in network” dentist to receive your benefits, you would have to call your insurance carrier and have them refer you to an “in network” dentist.

As a courtesy to you, we will submit your claim to your insurance carrier but prefer for you to pay for treatment that same day. You could pay in full or we could accept assignment of benefits. What that would mean if you pay in full, we submit to your insurance carrier asking them to reimburse your benefits directly to you. If you would like us to accept the assignment of benefits, then we could accept your portion of what insurance does not cover, submit your claim but ask that the reimbursement from the carrier be sent to us to pay your balance. We do our best to estimate your portion and if insurance does not cover fully our estimate, you are responsible for the remaining balance. If the insurance company makes a mistake and sends reimbursement to you and not us, it is your responsibility to submit that payment to our office and responsible for any remaining balance.

What if I do not have dental benefits?

We prefer payment due at the time of treatment. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and some HSA’s.

If payment is paid in full by check or cash for treatment equal or greater than $500, Red Lion Dental is willing to apply a 5% courtesy discount towards the total treatment cost.

For treatment consisting of lab work (such as crowns, dentures, partials etc.), at least 50% down payment is required prior to the start of treatment to cover lab fees. The remainder is due at the completion and/or delivery of treatment.

We understand these are difficult times that we are all facing. If this would be a financial hardship for you and your family, we are also an enrolled provider with CareCredit. CareCredit is a healthcare credit card for you or your family and is subject to credit approval. With shorter term financing options of 6, 12, 18 or 24 months, no interest is charged on purchases of $200 or more when you make the minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period. If you do not, interest is charged from the original purchase date. Promotional financing options may also be available. Red Lion Dental would be willing to give you an estimate of payment breakdowns per month using our own Red Lion Dental CareCredit Calculator, assisting you in applying and taking advantage of any available promotions.

Red Lion Private Dental Plans are also available for singles, couples or families. These plans work similar to many dental plans on the market and are offered in two different levels. You pay a monthly membership fee for benefit coverage on your dental expenses and the remainder of the percentage not covered by the plan would also be your responsibility. Financing of these co-payments from an outside source through Red Lion Dental (ie. CareCredit) is excluded with these plans. Red Lion Dental would be happy to discuss and share these plans with you if you are interested.

Red Lion Dental is also willing to offer payment plans for patient portions of cost equal or greater than $500. These plans would consist of an agreed upon down payment and monthly payment amount with Red Lion Dental through auto withdrawal from an chosen payment method.

Please contact Red Lion Dentals Financial/Treatment Coordinator for any further information, questions, concerns or assistance.

What if you have dental benefits?

Our office will gladly work with you to help get the maximum out of network benefit available to you. Most dental insurance plans do not cover 100% of your treatment costs and with some insurances you must seek treatment with an in network provider. Many variables exist from carrier to carrier (i.e.deductibles, annual maximums, allowable fee limitations, non-covered procedures and other restrictions): therefore, we cannot guarantee any estimated charges on treatment plans.

As a courtesy, Red Lion Dental can submit a predetermination, upon request, of the treatment plan to your insurance carrier. This allows you to know in advance what is covered and what your share of the costs will be before you receive treatment. Some dental services may be limited or not covered by your plan. It also shows you any deductible or maximums applied. Once you receive the predetermination, you can make an informed decision about whether you want to proceed with the treatment or discuss additional financial options with our Financial/Treatment Coordinator. Please note that all dental insurances state that “A predetermination is not a guarantee of payment—it is an estimate of what you can expect to owe.”

We prefer full payment due at the time of treatment. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and CareCredit. As another courtesy, we will submit your dental claim to your insurance carrier, release any information necessary to adjudicate the claim and initiate a complaint to the insurance commissioner for any reason on your behalf.

When paying in full, Red Lion Dental will do what we can to have your insurance carrier reimburse your benefits directly to you. However, some insurances will only reimburse benefits to the provider, Red Lion Dental, which you would have the option of a refund or adding a credit to your account as a prepayment for future treatment. If Red Lion Dental is aware that your

insurance company will only reimburse the provider prior to submitting the claim, we would be willing to accept the assignment of benefits (description in the next paragraph).

We understand these are difficult times that we are all facing. If this would be a financial hardship for you and your family to pay in full at time of treatment, we are willing to accept the assignment of benefits. This option means you would pay any estimated deductible, copay and coinsurance at the time of service. As a courtesy, we will submit your dental claim to your insurance carrier, release any information necessary to adjudicate the claim and initiate a complaint to the insurance commissioner for any reason on your behalf. You would be authorizing your insurance company to pay your benefits directly to Red Lion Dental but understand that should your insurance company send payment to you, you will forward the payment to Red Lion Dental within 48 hours. You will be fully responsible for any outstanding balance on your account.

Red Lion Dental is also willing to offer payment plans for patient portions of cost equal or greater than $500. These plans would consist of an agreed upon down payment and monthly payment amount with Red Lion Dental through auto withdrawal from an chosen payment method.
